How to: Fastbrakes 12.3" Rear Brake Rotors

Today after going back and forth with fastbrakes for 2 days, I finished installing my rear brakes and rotors.

I had the first set made for the B15 so there were some kinks to work out.  The bracket was made for a P10/P11 (infiniti G20) but with some modification to the mount, it can be used on the B15.  For those of you who want to pony up for a set here you go.  $250

http://fastbrakes.com/shop/product_info … ts_id=1936

So, here are the fastbrakes front and rear rotors and mounting brackets
http://a772.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/32/l_6a1c0fa86abc7593b3def506e4c3c8bb.jpg

Here is the 12.3 inch rear rotor
http://a573.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/37/l_c200505881bfa95de0451503893308f4.jpg

The braket is orientated like shown with the raised pair pointed to the inside.
A large washer is used as a spacer between the bracket and the mount
A small aria of metal from the mount needs to be shaved down for the bracket to fit on the large washer provied this aria is circled in red
http://a494.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/18/l_318353113df1bfd8f5f7ff61d655ecdd.jpg

This is the mount after the shaving of the metal
http://a927.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/57/l_951beab56dfe02c9bf6bc3b4f2a532fe.jpg

Now the bracket can be placed flush on the large washers. Use the small provided bolts and the small washers to mount the braket to the mount as shown. Bolt gose in from the outside.
Bolt--->Small Washer--->Mount--->Large Washer--->Braket (raised part goes in)  locktight and torque to 45lbs
http://a665.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/45/l_b6ce70bab0f888caed67585d6f9494d0.jpg

Put on the rotor and mount the caliper to the braket using the factory caliper mounting bolts.  A small washer is used between the bracket and caliper to center the caliper over the rotor. The factory bolt goes from the inside.

Place in pads and mount upper part of caliper like normal, there are already threads on this

G2 gold with a tad of (couple drops) orange mixed in to match the front brembos.

did you have to mod anything for the front brakes or did those just slide right in?

yes, I think I know what the problem is.  I have the brembo rears and the 12.3 kit was designed for the non brembo rears.  They didn't tell me that when I bought them.  I told them I had the brembo option and wanted to just upgrade my rotors.  I have to wait til tomarrow to get that verified by email. Looks like I might have to sell or trade my nice new painted brembo rear calipers for some non brembos to fit the rotor.

UGH, WHY ME!!! smiley-suicide

Hold on let me get back to you tomorrow after I talk to fastbrakes.  If I do, you got to clean them real good before you send them, and throw in a can of G2 Gold.  The Brembo rears are band spanking new with fresh new paint.  Yours are Non Brembo right?

Re: How to: Fastbrakes 12.3" Rear Brake Rotors

hmmm, kinda weird if you get the fastbrakes/wilwood kit having 12.2 up front and 12.3 in the rears but nice that they've stepped up.  Too bad they're not going to have a nice wilwood caliper to help clean up the back though.

Also, does fastbrakes plan to make the adapter to fit the b15 without any modifications or just going to leave it the way it is?

I kno I must be missin somethin... lol

If you did the 12.2 front wilwood kit, then you only need to upgrade your rr rotors to slotted (because it appears you have the rr brembo option)
