How to purge the Brake Fluid????

Wasssup, I want to purge and refill my brake fluid with some Motul brake fluid.

Hoq can I purge it, any how to?

The main reason is because I feel my OEM brake fluid has a low boiling point.

Any recomendations? Which is the owners manuel specifications for our cars?

Regards,

Re: How to purge the Brake Fluid????

Get some sort of sucker like a turkey baster and suck all the fluid out of the master cylinder, then fill with whatever fluid you want. Then get a buddy to help you push the brake pedal a few times, then go to the right rear wheel and loose the bleeder screw on the caliper about half a turn to a turn, fluid will squirt out. Keep doin that a few times and then move to the left rear wheel then right front then left front. Keep an eye on the fluid level in the master cylinder cause if u run dry, air will get in the system and thats no bueno. Since the clutch hydraulic system uses the same fluid the brakes use, you gotta bleed your clutch too which is a total pain in the asshole. I'd try to explain it but the pictures in the FSM show you better.

Re: How to purge the Brake Fluid????

low boiling point? dude, it's DOT 3. same as (almost) any brake fluid... unless you've got 60k miles on your car it should be fine. if the fluid is dark, yea it's time to change it. otherwise it's just fine.

Re: How to purge the Brake Fluid????

You can buy a vacuum pump at Autozone and bleed them yourself. Very very easy to do.
