Re: dual exhaust

The Sentra is way to compact of a car to have duals. Wouldn't look good at all.

Re: dual exhaust

I suppose wether they look good or not is entirely a matter of opinion. I think the dual exhausts on the new altimas look awesome and done right they can look good on any car. Having said that i'm all about function and if a car only has 1 exhaust pipe it only needs 1 exhaust tip. Adding another will probably only congest the exhaust system assuming you even hook it up in a functional manner, also it will add alot more weight and increase the expense. So if you're into totally cosmetic mods and think it would look good go for it. I would never add a second exhaust, if my car came with them i'd leave them but probably switch to a single when i bought an aftermarket exhaust.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: dual exhaust

The new altimas with qr25 have dual exhaust....however its not a REAL dual exhaust it just splits to two mufflers. It fits the new models but is 100% rice as it does nothing for performance.

And Stromung and WS2 and NISMO are the best sounding exhaust for our car (most ppl on this website would agree)

Re: dual exhaust

the bigger the exhaust, generally the more ricy it will sound. doing a duel exhaust will make it even worse. think of how a v6 comaro or mustang sounds when they put duels on... absolutely terrible. doing it to a 4 cyl would be even worse

Re: dual exhaust

First off, let me just say that I don't think duals on the spec would be attractive at all; but, I've seen some 4 bangers that do sound pretty good. I think if you ran like 2" pipe all the way and just split it at the back to two stromung mufflers it wouldn't soud bad. Looks on the other hand. . . smiley-sick

The OBX Shorty header is a complete ripoff of the Hotshot header. If you can't get the hotshot (it's not made anymore) I'd get the OBX. You're still supporting cheap-ass ripoff artists but at least you're getting a good design.

Re: dual exhaust

i have the r34 body kit and i am in the building a dual exhaust axle back to make the rear end look good. It is in no way intended to gain horsepower just make the car look complete.
pic of my car without the kit painted and exhaust installed

just wouldn't look right with a single tip

Re: dual exhaust

See, doesnt look bad, I dig it. I wouldnt sport it because of the extra cost and lack of any performance increase, but i think that looks good.

Re: dual exhaust

Who cares if you dont gain power? But you gain weight and lose money. So if you care more about looks than performance go for it, if its the other way around save yourself the extra weight and spend the money on something else.

Re: dual exhaust

a friend of mine had dual on his 03 sentra. only it was side exit and one was on each side. and it used the rectangle camaro tips. It really did not look bad at all and for a while I was going to do the same, but just never got around to it. I may still do it in the future.

Re: dual exhaust

I seriously dont believe the buzzing sound came from the tips themselves. If thats now what you meant, then ok, but thats the way it seems in your post.

Re: dual exhaust

it is and it was, cause that's what the customer was complaining of. had duals put on a titan with the rectangular tips, and then there was a buzzing noise.

Re: dual exhaust

I personally ponderd this idea myself for a long time , and after seeing the pic , I fell it does look pretty sweet with the proper rear  bumper .

If only we could get a sound clip now ...

Re: dual exhaust

Well Ive seen alot of negitive feed back about this. I love the picture of that yellow spec with the dual exhaust deffinitly a steller look. But I have been looking into purchasing a g35 STOCK exhaust system and running a 2/25" or 2/50" piping from the manifold back with a cat. Now mind you the car will be booosted. I love the sound and i have had a magnaflow exhaust with headers ....i honestly hated it ....a high pitch can ting that sounded like a civic......that is not what i want at all. if you go on you tube check out this exhausts they are killer. Sure i know all you motor heads are thinking it wont work because there isent enough pressure to flow through these 4 bangers  like the v6's. my point is ....has anyone came across someone in there paths that has already done this i would love to hear there feed back about this. I'm not looking for negitive feed back just inspirational and uplifting motivation.

Probably won't work, your car is not as long nor as wide as a g35. There is no way it would fit in any shape or form. You'll most definitely have to go custom. The exhaust's path as well as the hangers are probably way off too. Else travis would probably have pulled that one already.

BTW, magnaflow sounds like shit on every car I've heard it on.

Re: dual exhaust

the g35 exhaust isnt gonna magically get rid of the high pitch can ting, and make it sound like a g35....thats the way this car sounds with a modified exhaust, if you dont like it dont modify it...
