WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

Hey

There has been a lot of discussion about the WRP crank pulley and power steering pulley, but has anyone installed the over sized valves.  Any thoughts on this product, good, bad, doesn't make a difference.

If any one has this product installed or has been in a car that has let me know.  Is this another probably not worth my time kind of product from WRP.  Sounds like some people are very pleased with the pulleys and some are not, but I have not heard anything about these valves.

Post up and let me know your thoughts.

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

I know Im in the 07 section, WRP list the product in both the B15 and B16 version.

I figured since no one was talking about them that they were not going to do any good, but I think I would ask everyone first.

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

WRP is the single worst company, and by company I mean Will, that i have EVER done business with. Even if their products were made of gold i would not buy them. Horrible customer service, the pulley he sent looked used, and when i tried to return it, he "never got it" even though i paid for signature confirmation. Not only did he get the money from the pulley, i paid to ship it, and never got my refund. With that said, fuck WRP, and thats my two cents.

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

i have oversized valves. they fit my 03 spec he really messed it up in the beginning by first "ordering" the wrong material and then took another 3 weeks to get the right material and get it shipped. i had to call a few times to figure what the hell was going on with them.  the other thing which makes no sense to me is that the valve stems are a little bit larger than the stock ones so you have to get the guides machined too. like .003 or something larger but i dont know he could be lying about that too, the shop did it so i cant promise the size if any difference.

good news was i had 16 roses for my spec smiley-smile

-edit-

fyi i ordered these BEFORE he was caught with the ims and other shit or i WOULD NOT have ordered them

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

I have 1mm OS valves.  Then again i ordered from Summit Racing, did a 5 angle valve job with a back cut.  Then i proceeded to work on the head.  Full Port and Polish, Unshrouded the valves,  fixed some velocity issues and casting or prior machining marks.  Followed that with a Gasket matching.

the car Revs extremely fast, My idle seems a bit higher, but at 120mph, im only at 2100 rpms.  Overall my RPM's dropped across the line.  My idle noise has Increased a bit.  Low end power seems to have gotten better, Im awaiting another dyno day, i have a few other things i need to finish up first.

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

Revs dropped? I'm not trying to start shit but WTF are you talking about? RPM at speed is a function of gearing. Same transmission + same size wheels + same size tires = same speed at any rpm no matter what you do to the engine no matter what, its simple math. Also 120mph at 2100rpm i dont know what b16 gearing is like but I doubt its anywhere near there in my b15 spec 75mph is around 3000rpm, 120mph would be around 4500rpm i think.

Anyways if you do something to your car, valves, intake, turbo whatever and the revs seem to be lower at the same speed its either your imagination or a small amount of error in the instruments. My uncle swears his car revs lower at 70mph when he runs shell gas. The diameter of his tires dont change, neither do his gears i dont know how he figures the RPM change, who knows.

I have the SE-R, meaning i lack gears, i have the fun CVT transmission.    If you ever seen the CVT in action, the faster you go, the rpms stay about the same and sometimes drop, depending on the ratio.

Ah sorry thats why i was saying i was not trying to start shit. I totaly missed it, yeah with more power a CVT can go faster at lower RPM, now i look dumb. Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

Ive never personally had a problem with him, I have his phone number, and has alwaz delivered when stated (for me), and Ive never wanted a refund from his parts (i didnt get the IMS)

Agreed, but what about never getting the part and never getting a refund either?

Ive never personally had a problem with him, I have his phone number, and has alwaz delivered when stated (for me), and Ive never wanted a refund from his parts (i didnt get the IMS)

You never got the IMS nor a refund? Am i reading right?

I never bought a IMS, so no need for a refund

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

I love who we went from oversized valves to the IMS.

Anyway, ill take a video later, if the roads are dry by then, showing the fun with CVT.  If its still raining here, i wont, simply because its quite hard to balance my DSLR on the steering wheel and drive.

That wasnt what i was intending, I just wanted to say that WRP has the best aftermarket valves out there at the moment

The stock head flows pretty good to begin with, if I was going to change valves, I'd go with the 07 Spec V valves and retainers as they are better than the B15 ones.

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

The chance you take by buying WRP valves is his shoddy R&D and lack of real testing on REAL cars.  He assumes stuff works, instead of testing and finding out if it DOES work.

they are the same, they are very good stock parts.  WRP are better because they save on weight and use stock retainers and keepers

They aren't the same, the NSM build was supposed to use factory valves, but they decided on the new 07 Spec V ones cause they were a better design/material.

I appologize my info was incorrect.  anywaz, depending on what material they used and how much they weighed would determine which one i used then, If the 07's weigh less Id go with them, if not still WRP

each one only cost like 3$, you should buy one and tell me how much it weighs  lol

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

how much are the wrp valves? and do the b16 valves need any extra work to make them fit in the b15 head? any on a related note, are b15 valve springs the same as b16 valve springs?

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

so what would it take altogether to do an oversized valvetrain on a B16 then?  i plan on eventually doing a PnP on the head and shaving.

Re: WRP Oversized Valves...Anyone?

i don't know my local high schools, and all the kids around here seem like retards.  I mean I'm only 23 but MTV has destroyed what these kids like.  they're all about the big ass truck daddy bought them for a senior year gift.  the rest are shitty little riceboxes.
