Sorry I don't live in TX, but I definitely support this, and am very interested. Hopefully we can get enough people, I don't think it should be too hard. Keep us updated.

They don't need your car for an extended time they just need you to come in every now and then. You just need to come in dyno, take the stock settings and then they over time examine what they can change and how they can change it and then you come back and they will reflash your ecu dyno tune you and then you come back again to see how the ecu has relearned the new values.
Hondata is not FTL, you owned a Honda and you should know that.. Even thier OBD1 systems were better than most others, neptune, chrome and a few others.
Let's get this going asap!

Definitely not anywhere remotely close to Texas (that'd be one long ass drive from here!). I'm quite interested though! Shipping to Canada is going to suck though....

a little birdie told me the 04+ one was YEARS out of being released to the public, too. so 07+ guys... i wouldn't get any extreme hopes up of anything happening soon... but maybe i'll get proved wrong? good luck anyways, sounds like you guys are like the 02/03s, always getting the short stick!

I am across the state from Austin...lol. Does the car need to be bone stock to start with? I might be able to do it if no one else can. BIG maybe.

Like I said I spoke with them and they said if we start now they believe they can have the setup ready by the end of the year. That's a great turnaround time for R&D and actual testing. I think they do want a stock car.
But they still want to know if we have a stock wideband? If not we'd need an aftermarket one in order to use thier software.

tony - regarding ur car, since u have the ecu stock, it shouldnt matter... as for a wideband, that sux u gotta buy one.
Offline

This would be great if it can be accomplished. It would definately help out those who want to stay NA. I'd definately be down.

Evan

The spec's don't have a wideband down by the main cat? Just a standard 02 sensor? Bah that's gay as anything.
Offline

Jeff

we have NOTHING by the main cat, no sensor, NOTHING

Thanks major. I will keep an eye on this to see if anyone can do it. At least I would get some dyno time out of it...lol

There you go, you heard it from him, We need this asap, to clean up the A/F, get past the WOT restriction that we seem to have as well.
Someone needs to get on this asap!
Thanks for the chime in.

I live about three hours from Austin and make several trips that direction throughout the year. I'm interested in loaning my car, but as far as a wideband, I don't have one. I may be able to borrow one from a friend though. How do I get the wheels moving on this?

Nice, i'm afraid to do anything to the ECU on just an SER however. It might screw with the CVT.

Thank you for helping getting that started. What most people fail to realize is that this is the best investment towards modding our cars.
Power, reliability, and convenience(sp?) all at once.
If you need anything from me at all, let me know.

I was wandering if you would get in on this... Good job man!

i have the aem fi/c on order. its a piggyback but u can control each individual injector as well as clamp maf voltage so it doesnt max out. Its got some nice options and i have the entire ecu pinout with corresponding aem wires/colors so its a straight forward install of cut, splice, solder, seal. Also, if u elect to go this route, it has a port for an aem uego wideband so u can datalog through the fi/c and this is an EXCELLENT resource for street tuning so u can monitor everything AFTER ur runs and adjust what u need.
I used to think plug-n-play is the way to go, and it will be for many of u but once u learn to self-tune, ull NEVER want a plug-n-play

It has been a tough road trying to get parts for this car, compared to my Mustang. They already have parts for those cars before they go on sale. Especially flash tuning devices. It is more of a plug and play, but some parmeters and values can be changed like fuel trim +/- 15% at idle, part throttle, and WOT. Timing can also be adjusted. Advancing or retarding overall base timing, just cant change the timing curve independently at the DIY level. You have to have the tuner package to make those adjustments. Overall, I've been down this road before, waiting for the aftermarket to support a relatively new vehicle. It is usually the first two to three years that most modifcations are limited to air intakes and mufflers. No SE-Rious hardware. Thats when we as the owners of such vehicles have to pioneer a movement that brings attention to our beloved cars. It was that way with the first SE-R I owned in 1993. Where there's a will, there's a way. I had N2O on that car and ran 13.9's w/ a 50 shot.

Should try the Perfect Power SMT-6 or SMT-7...I hadf this on my Hyundai Accent 1.6 turbo...was a perfect match you can control as much as 8 injector and the SMT-7 have a 3 bar MAP in it if my not wrong...

I talked to them about the 04-06, they are planning to start in october because they are doing 2 other projects right now. they don't wanna do the 02 cause there is a problem with reading the ecu or something about a can bus. i live 3hrs away and already offered my car cause i have friends there and a spare car so not a prob. they need it for maybe 2 days but are going to send software and cables and have whoever send in some data the software will pick up and then have them go in for fine tuning. Big J is working with them but yes they are busy and yes they are definetly planning work on the 04-06 and i think after that will be easy to do 07-08? any other questions?

I'm pysched for either or to be honest. I might have to try and get in contact with Bill tronco (even tho I hear people are having a few issues with him) and see if he's up to the task of wiring up a megasquirt.
What are the benefits of the program? I know it would control fuel, so I could adjust a/f's but is there anything else that it could aid in?
I just need it confirmed whether or not the throttle closes prematurely like in most other new nissans, and if so can megasquirt remedy that?
