whos got it done and what pin did you cut? Ive seen one of robbies guides say to cut pin 40 which looks to be the brake switch, but there is also some other pin that has a ASCD brake switch so idk. Also have you gone on any long trips. the FSM says the ECU will throw you into limp mode if it doesnt detect a brake signal in a very long time.

I know "inspected" has it done to his car, I was going to do it a while back but I never got around to it.

Tgehre is a fuse you pull.
I forget what it is, and cant look, since i no longer have the spec-v.

[Ignition switch: ON]
Brake pedal fully released
Approximately 0V
[Ignition switch: ON]
Brake pedal depressed
BATTERY VOLTAGE
(11 - 14V)
look it up on the 02-03's in the manual

I can brake boost without doing anything??? I can brake and give it gas and accelerate overrideing the brake.. Brake doesnt affect my TBS at all.

While you're already moving that is... not to be confused with launching from a stop

Still very confused. How is boost connected to braking?

Who needs brake boosting? lol

i will probably just be using the launch control from now on lol. get to 3 or 4mph over target speed, clutch in and floorit, and drop the clutch on go.

There's a fuse/thingy that stops you from applying throttle and the brakes at the same time while moving... you remove, and you can slightly apply the brakes and gas, allowing you to roll race launch with the turbo spooled up
that's my best description

right, paying to much attention on 2 steps lately. Yes, brake boosting puts a load on the motr(brakeing) and increases boost. Therefore when you leave when doing a rolling race your in boost.

lmao just looking out for ya

is this the reason why doesn't my car get in boost when i rev it in neutral???
Offline

Josh

No, thats because it needs load on the motor to spool the turbo on our cars. Our turbos are fairly large and take more than revs in neutral to spool them up.

So I just cut the wire from the ECU leading from pin 40? I suck at electronics, can someone point that out for me?
Will the ECU throw me into limp mode like someone mentioned?

maybe if you cut the wrong wire it will lol but no you will be ok. i know of atleast 2 spec's that have done this include the G man and oranerocket and they are ok. ive seen orangerocket brake boost personally

The wire to cut is inside that elongated plastic box against the firewall on the passenger side where theres a flexible pipe going in right? When Im looking for pin 40 is it really a pin labelled 40 or a colored wire?

yes, the ecu is actually inside of the fire wall and no it will not say pin 40. you will have to look at a diagram and then find it on your ecu and cut it
