Prosport gauges in 1.8

ok well i finished my instalation for the tachometer in my 1.8...
my setup for tach was using the autometer 9117 adapter acording to this thread....

and heres the tachometer adapter i used...

now my problem is that my tach reads fine idle at 1000rpm but it doesnt go higher than 4000rpm!! even going 100mph(jsut found that out lol)
heres a pic dead stop and bout the highest rev reading i could get...

anyone any suggestions??besides a new car with tach lol...
the only thing ihavent tried is switching these two...
RED = Plug Connector Side

RED/GREEN = Harness Side

suggestions??

made it...but i tried to fix some minor faults recently and now it looks like crap..(the paint)
