Re: brake fluid!

NO!

Check for leaks...  have you installed anything using a drill?  Have you had a brake pad change?  You've got a major problem there.  Take it to the dealer.

Re: brake fluid!

Hows your clutch feel? The brake and clutch hydraulics use the same fluid/resivour. I believe someone had a problem with the clutch slave cylinder leaking fluid and getting on the clutch disc. You won't see a leak anywhere tho cause its going in the tranny. Just take it to the dealer and tell them you've had to fill it up numerous times.

Re: brake fluid!

There is no way that I know of besides take it to the dealer. If I remember right you won't see any leaking because it leaks inside the tranny. Someone correct me if I am wrong though...

Re: brake fluid!

ive heard that the brake fluid on some cars is leaking into the booster itself.  go to a dealership, its a warrenty item.

STOP AND TAKE IT TO THE DEALER ASAP...

I just took mine into the dealer with this same issue, this is a very dangerous problem. My brake booster has is actually malfunctioning and could cause the brakes to fail. The car will be at the dealership over the weekend and they are going to give me a loaner. The service guy said that he could not give the car back to me with out me signing a waiver acknowledging that I could die if I continued to drive it as is...

I would get it in ASAP I will let you know what happens when it happens.

Re: brake fluid!

if it is the slave cylinder ( inside the tranny ) you couls still see the leak since there is a small hole on the bottom that is there for these purpose, to let you know if the tranny or main seal is leaking.

leaking at the booster makes some sence but i havent notice any wetness nor the bad odor of the brake fluid inside the car...

No, no strange oders inside the car. And it was the Master cylinder not the slave. I did pick it up but had to turn it back in because of some other issues.

Re: brake fluid!

so the master cylinder was the problem? was it leaking at the booster? or the reservoir?

Re: brake fluid!

if you car stil at the dealer.. please ask them how they found the problem please..

why wont you guys ask how they found the problem?? after all the hate towards "stealerships"

maybe they didnt find shit and they are just replacing something to make you think they fixed it... or maybe they aint replacing anything at all and just adding some fluid...

a leaky MC will make you pedal soft, my pedal its not soft and when press with my left foot its staing in place..  makes no sence yet dont know where the fluid is going..

Re: brake fluid!

jc they replaced my whole master cylinder, my brake light kept coming on and brake fluid was near empty after i topped it off. my brake pedal felt fine but i was getting shuttering cause of my rotors. he first said it was a gasket then he just replaced the whole thing. my guess is defective master cylinders on all our cars just like the rotors. as far as i see it everytime someone posts a problem with there car expect it to happen to theirs. as for the engines blowing up if that happens all hells gunna brake loose. this car seems like they put it together with elmers glue over there in mexixo. my girl got a brand new toyota xrs and the quality is outstanding. i regret buying a nissan but this forum and the people help me out. just bring it to the dealership.

Re: brake fluid!

I can say that my clutch pedal feels stiffer or even harder now and the brakes feel like I have to mash on them less to stop. I would say to for shiz take it to the dealer asap.

Re: brake fluid!

did you ask to see your old parts?  gasket eh... there is no gasket on the MC... only seals...

dealerships are shady..

the thing that worries me is that they are replacing the "defective" parts with same quality parts meaning defective parts too...
