Basic engine dress up

Whats some ideas of engine dress ups you've guys have done?  (Other than Paint VC, Wireloom, new caps, etc)?  Post pics please!

I'm also wondering if you can paint rubber hoses or rather how long the paint will last or if its cheaper/easier to go with wireloom / steel braids.

I'm just looking at my engine bay and wondering what to do more. =\

Re: Basic engine dress up

do more performance mods instead of ricing out your SENTRA (yes it is still a just a sentra btw).  plus, unless you show the car who gives a shit what the engine bay looks like?

Re: Basic engine dress up

Eh, ignore the haters.  For some reason a lot of people think a car can't look good or it's rice.  I drive a rather large pile of rice according the "rules" of others on here, haha.

Let's see... there's always powdercoating the bolts and stuff, but maybe that's pricey?  I am not sure.  Jonse-rturbooo is getting his done, he might be one to ask.  He's our resident show car king.

I am not sure about painting rubber hoses... I don't see that lasting too long.

Don't go crazy on wire loom, it can look tacky after awhile if it's everywhere.

Re: Basic engine dress up

Ya I know wireloom kinda sux.  Does anyone know the specs for all the wires in our engine bays?  I know its kinda a big request, so I could possibly compile a custom silicon hose kit?

Would work better than painting.  Also I'm going to probably pull off some stuff to sandblast at work and paint, going to do that to my strut bar.

Or know where anyone sells a silicon hose kit for a spec?

Re: Basic engine dress up

Be careful of silicone hosing that's aftermarket... I got some for my vacuum lines, and the stuff collapses and melts together.  So i'd be wary of that stuff.

and that my friend is the ricey stuff i am referring to.  it is useless.

i don't have any problems with making an engine bay look nice.  paint the vc, paint the IM.  subtle shit like that.  don't just add stuff in there for the hell of it though.

I see your point Alex... don't go changing out stuff if it's not necessary.  And if you go turbo, buy quality fuel line for your vacuum lines, don't grab the red 3A Racing stuff from the ricer isle like I did to make your new lines out of smiley-wink

Wow... I wouldn't be able to bring myself to put that in an engine bay lol.  Careful not to scratch it on the install smiley-wink  I'd cover it in a layer of blue painter's tape.
