What do you think of this idea?

So I was thinking of getting a BBK eventually, whether it be the one rako is testing or something later. but my idea was to (in conjunction with the BBK) get a set of the specv front brakes/rotors and put them on the rear of my car, and then get rotors to fit them that wont warp later once those come out.

From my limited knowledge this should work, right?

Re: What do you think of this idea?

Meh I'm not sure, but the car's brake bias is set to hardly any force from the rear that the amount of money you'd spend it wouldn't have any real benefits for the price.

Re: What do you think of this idea?

i thought of this too, but keep in mind that you are changing the rear brakes and what impact would that have on the braking system in entirety?

Re: What do you think of this idea?

Ya I wouldn't worry about the rear's most car are set up to brake between 60-70% in the front and 40-30% in the back

With bigger brakes in the back I don't think you will notice to much difference specially since under brakeing all the weight shifts to the front and the back of the car is lighter anyway they will probably just lock up easier unless you get a nice firm low suspension to lower the center of gravity and put alittle more force to the rears.

Re: What do you think of this idea?

Well I have megan racing coilovers on the way. It would also be mainly for aesthetics really.

What kind of price are we talking for a used set of front brakes anyways?

Re: What do you think of this idea?

Well its an interesting concept.  I dont have an extra set of caliper yet to see if it could be done.  I think the biggest problem is the actual place the caliper bolts on too.  I belive the front spacing is a few Inches larger then the rear.

If you want, you might try a helper caliper, another small caliper to help the main one.  Some cars actually have 2 seperate calipers on 1 rotor.  Usually this is over kill, but it does work.

Another thing that might be an issue, is the force needed to close the larger rear caliper. I dont know if our Brake Boosters can handle it.

As for increased performance, Slotted rear rotors might help, and i already am part searching for rear brake duct cooling.

Later today, since im working on the car after it stops raining, ill measure out the bolt locations, see if your gonna need a bracket of some sort.

Re: What do you think of this idea?

Here ya go, i hope this helps you out.  BTW, the measurement is in Inches.  I had mm but the pics are horribly glaring.

Ah anyways I think its trivial, i'm just going to get some brake lines and keep my stock ones. It's not like I do autox or anything.

Thanks for your help tho :p
