Re: quick stealership question

yes when rotors are done, the pads should also be done.  Otherwise you'll cut the old rotor pattern into the new ones, via the old pads.

And honestly for the labor and whatnot, it can be done cheaper by buying new rotors and a set of pads and doing it yourself.

I'll almost guarantee that it's only your front rotors, as the rears don't do really enough brakeing to warp.  <<not that it's impossible.

So all you really need is a set of front rotors and a set of front pads.
Do it yourself it'll be cheaper and then you'll get BRAND NEW rotors.

Also if you choose to do this yourself, make sure you wear in the new rotors properly.
First thing after everything is on and your lugs are tightened, you should do a few accellerations to full stops.

Start with a 20mph to 0 stop.  make sure you come to a full stop.
Then a 40 mph to 0 stop
Then a 50 mph to 0 stop.  You may start to notice some smoke coming from the front wheel wells, this is normal.
Then a 60 mph to 0 stop.
Then go in reverse back down to 20mph stop.

Thats more than enough to properly seat/wear in your new rotors and pads.

Good luck

Re: quick stealership question

I think he mean, having them turned under warranty.  I think we have a 12K mile brake warranty, but I'm not positive.  I'm having the same problem, just clicked 10K miles and they are driving me nuts.

I'm going to go ask the dealership if they can fix them under warranty.
