Question for slick guys.....

what size slicks do you run on your sentras?  i just bought some 22x8 MT ET Drags from a member but im thinking that they are not going to be tall enough.  they seem smaller than the DR's i run now (225/50 15).  any help would be great...

Re: Question for slick guys.....

when i trapped at 109 i almost had to shift into 6th on 22x8.  i have a couple more revs than you do too so i would definitely go taller.

ill let you know how it works out for me because we are pretty much gonna have the same setup.  at least very similar.  i planned on trying 26inchers to be sure i stay in 4th.  5th is a hard gear to hit and even worse to race in.

I can really hear that.

Thanks  please let me know
It’s too bad the 26" tire requires so many body changes.  On further study , I noticed that the 24.5" tire has an L 8 tread compound [general use] while the 26" tire uses the softer ,sticker L 4[?] compound actually recommended for lighter cars. M/T even calls the 26" tire "the sport compact tire".

Re: Question for slick guys.....

i ran 26 inch tall slicks when i was bottled.  it wouldnt have worked on teh street because it rubbed a lil on turns but that never stopped me.  mine were only 6inches wide though.

Re: Question for slick guys.....

I think travis means this tire.

part no.3053    26.0/10.0-15

its 10 in. wide, I see I was wrong about the compound its listed as L8

were you able to hook up the 6" wide tire?

which 26" tire are you going to use now?

I see some 26" diameter tires listed that are only 8" wide

Re: Question for slick guys.....

it hooked up but i was only at around 220hp so i ditched them for the 22x8 ones that travis sold me.  my 26x6inchers only rubbed on my ricer ass body kit, nothing under the car on my slammed ass ksports.

Re: Question for slick guys.....

These are bias ply tires what do you run on the rear to go with them?

I use 25 in radials in the rear and 23.4 in radials up front to load the front end now.

My fronts now are bfg g-sports [at just legal tread depth barely] at the strip.

This obviously won't work with the v6.

With the 24.5 M/T’s up front I would like to try a  28 in diameter tire on the rear.

that"s this tire from M/T part no. 3002 28.0/4.5-15

looks like you could fit it on a 15x5" rim

edit 6/3/08
28" tire would not fit my car, also the above tire runs a 4.5in wheel width too skinny for me
I went with 26"x7.5"x15" sportsman tire you can mount on a 6.5in wide rim
tire weighs 16lbs
this is matched w/ an ET drag slick 24.5"x8"x15" up front

according to M/T you need a minimum of 7in wide wheels
for the 8in wide slicks
