Here's a great link to a list compiled by SEMA that lists state by state the laws regarding lowering and rising a vehicle's height.

Heh, I like how Wyoming has no law what so ever. Makes me giggle.

MAN, thats why i woould never EVER moved to VA. Everything is illegal there. I got a story.......
I was just leaving my cousin's house in Alexerdria, VA. I drove past Springfield Mall, now i have a green light, so why did this cop (at a complete stop) run the red light, put on the lights and flag me down.
Cop: Sir do you know why i pulled you over.
Me: No sir.
(BTW, i'm in my 96 SER)
Cop: I felt you as drove by and you have a illegal exhaust.
Me: But sir, i'm from Maryland. That law doesn't apply to me.
Cop: As long as you drive through this state, all our laws apply to you.
What kind of exhaust is that anyway. A Apex N1?
Me: No sir, its a Reactive.
Gave me a damn fix it ticket. F THAT. Thats why it's still on my car and i'll never move to VA.

^^^ That's BS. I guess the same thing goes for nearly all the east coast states when it comes to tint, though... even if you're just visiting, your tint must meet their laws... My tint is 28%, which is Wyoming's legal limit, and it's on all windows, so hopefully I can kinda lay low in NJ and not get harrassed, because over my dead body am I taking my tint off. The car is registered in WY and I have a WY license so fuck NJ, NY, NH, MD, DE, and any other east coast state that has a problem with it.

Fadet0blak, dont take this as a personal attack and for everyone, dont take this as an attack, period.
Its all about safety.... I dont know how many times Ive had to roll down my windows on a rainy night to look before I make a turn cuz I have 20% tint. Loud exhaust make it hard to hear emergency vehicle sirens. Lowering your car too low could cause you to lose control at posted speed limits. Headlights too low to the ground when coming over a hill makes the car seem as if its farther away and also reflects more light off the road, making them appear brigher than they really are.
These laws are in place for a reason make sure you understand that before you bash the shit.
I dont like these laws either, so the most you can do is break them and hope you can get away with it!

Same thing with New York. Nice. Not that I'm gonna go crazy low, its just nice to know the cops won't be able to F with me about.

Whats F'd up is I see trucks around here in Panama City, FL much higher than what the law says. I mean so damn high that a 3 yr old could stand there and it could drive over the kid and never touch them. If they hit most other vehicles on the road, it'd take off the roof and all windows. And how come if its a big truck, "muscle" car, or motorcycle they dont give a rats ass how loud it is, but if they even SEE an aftermarket muffler they will ticket you for noise even if its quieter than the cop car?

Shane...Aka Redman!

Someone wanna take a stab at this one for me....New Hampshire has a bumper law....
No alteration to the OEM bumper that would make bottom of the bumper less than 16” or more than 20” from the ground.
good thing I have both OEM and non OEM bumpers.

Newark cops r retarded they stopped me and started to measure the height my car was from the ground then asked if i lowered my car. like wtf pulled over for almost a half hour being questioned about this and that. then they tried to give me a ticket cause as far as they think HID's are illegal to have.
