GI: lightwheel flywheel

Very nice.  i like what you are doing...i just wish i had more time.

let me know if you need anything from me (Ya never know)

When you say, while the tranny is down, it s all being upgraded?  what are you going to upgrade? Just clutch pressure plate, and flywheel?  or go in deeper?

Re: GI: lightwheel flywheel

Justin,

I'm not so sure this will be really successful only because companies would want to see 30-40 people to make anything worth while - At least it's an expensive part to make, I know cause I'm working on a design, but I'm still having to outsource the ring gear.....

That being said, I would get one (though I already have one for the SR crank/VQ size) that was just in the 11-12 lb range -

Re: GI: lightwheel flywheel

once i get my supercharger installed i see my clutch screaming and eventually a quick death. so I will be needing a new clutch too and i might as well snag a flywheel while im at it. so with that said, if you have your deal going around the time i need a clutch, i am definitly in without a doubt. if its a lil earlier i can deal with that too.

id take a chromoly over aluminum... the 3-4lb weight difference vs. the comfort of knowing it'll last long, take more abuse and can be resurfaced.

Re: GI: lightwheel flywheel

I am very interested but is there anyway to keep the weight in the 11-13 pound area? or are you still going with the idea of having most of the mass closer to the center?

Re: GI: lightwheel flywheel

guys ... as HELPFUL and WONDERFUL as BigJ has been... how he created a turbo kit to be sold by treadstone... as much as helped this ENTIRE community from the beginning...

he has been banned for a DIFFERENCE of OPINION ... one of which i agree with.  i doubt this thread will be going anywhere now.  smiley-sad

This really sucks.

The chromly steel flywheel would be great for us FI guys smiley-sad

We should create a thread to bring bigJ back or something... This sucks.

Not mentioning that bigJ helped me big time with my turbo install. Without his help I don't think I would be able to get it running.

Banning bigJ is a huge loss to the specV community.
