My performance shop that is currently building my car, Stage 3 Motorsporting/Auto Electric Store is willing to set up a group buy with us on Custom and Upgraded alternators. They are asking for 5 buyers to start the process and get them out to everyone. The following options will be available.
130amp Alternator- $115 plus shipping (30 amps higher than stock)
130amp Alternator Powdercoated- $165 plus shipping
200amp Custom Alternator- $270 plus shipping (Stock Look)
200amp Custom Alternator Powdercoated any color- $350 plus shipping
This is a really good deal and i wish i would have came across these guys earlier they have built some really sick stuff and their work is top notch they have done alot for me and the car has never run better. I wish i would have known about them earlier i would have had them build the car from the start. And to give you an idea of how good of a deal this is i have a Blue Powdered 200amp Custom Stinger Alternator in my car and it costed me nearly $800 at dealer cost when i worked for an audio shop, so this is a killer deal.
If anyone has any questions ask here or you can call them at 845-567-0700 ask for Don.
Here is a picture of the Stinger Alternators for reference theres will be just like these and made to bolt right in to the car. The only thing that needs to be changed is the belt because the higher power alternators use different/smaller pulleys.
The warranty on these alternators is as follows they have a one year warranty. The product would have to be shipped back to be checked and then repaired. This is the standard warranty on all alternators. This is also another perk to buying their product i have the Stinger in my car which is more than double the price and they don't even offer a warranty with the alternator.
Once we have 5 buyer i will tell them to start on the project and give the buyers all the info so they can call the shop in order to give their Credit Card information so that they can be charged for the product and the build can begin. Address and specifications will also be made through the shop such as amperage and color.

I'm interested in jumping into this group buy, but I do have a question. What is the rating of amps at idle, and at what RPM does the alternator produce the full 130 or 200 (depending on model) amps?

i would need to ask about this. I'm not sure i have one in my car but never really asked when the full amperage kicked in. Ok since we have 5 i will be stopping at the shop tomorrow since my car is there getting riped apart. I will sit with him and get everything situated then forward you guys his Number and information so that you can call and give him all your info Credit Card #, Address, And amperage and Color. For those of you asking what colors are available you can get any color as long as its produced in Powder coat. However if you want a specialty color i will have to get info on those as the powder for translucent colors can be more expensive as it can to to or 3 stage and need a mixture of colors or need to be special ordered.

Talked to Don today and showed him the thread he said once he has all the info from 5 people with their Credit Card and Shipping info he will start the build. He said it will be about a month for these to be built, shipped, and received. Here is the number to call and give him all your info he will also answer any questions you might have.

Here is also a comparison of his alternator and my Stinger and testing result on both of them. At 6300rpm my stinger 200amp rated alternator produced about 13volts and 178amps. Stage 3 Motorings High Amperage Alternator probuced 175amps and 14volts at a little over 6000rpm with a larger pulley than my stinger has meaning if they just make the pulley smaller it will easily crank out more than stingers will at less than half the cost.
Comparison

Testing Stinger...

Testing their custom high amp alternator...

We also tested the 130amp but i didn't take pics of that it actually put out a few more than 130amps. Also changing the Pulley from bigger to smaller will make a significant change.

will this be plug and play? or do we need to rewire some things? also what does it pump out at idle and what does stock alti pump out at idle?

all you will need to change i believe is the belt as you will need a smaller belt and i think you may have to cut and splice a wire or 2. I had to cut and splice in a new harness for my Stinger and change the belt or that and i think its pretty much the same with theirs. If you call them tomorrow they will be able to answer any questions you may have. As for the Stock idle amperage i'm not sure as we did not have a stock alti there to run on the machine and test but theirs will def pump out alot more.

you would have to call and ask them about that but idk anyone who chrome dips plus alot of places that do this take a long time to get parts back from but you can use the chrome powder that looks polished/chrome. But as i said i talked to him today as based on the thread he is ready to start the process he just need 5 buyers to call him with all their info and pay in full to get things started. Also any questions you may have he will be more than willing to answer for you. They are open from 8am-5pm eastern standard time. Just give them a call between those hours with any questions and once he has 5 members who have given all their info and paid in full the process will begin.

Yeah, I saw your chrome powder, however I have some items that have been dipped and it just is way too far apart to be able to get by. I think I'll just go blue to match the car.

Well you've pretty much got me convinced to purchase an alternator. I'll be making a call tomorrow, too at least add myself as one to this group buy. Thank you for the information on the amperage, and also for making this a group buy.

what are our stock ones rated at? And, for those of us who can't make this gb, can we call him down the road and have one made?
Offline
Kevin

Well, Im gonna have to find out a way to call, being in Korea and all. I might call early saturday morning so I can talk to them on time.

Offline
Jon

Im sure that he will be able to make more at a later date or i can always start another group buy. The stocks are rated at 100amps for the 04 when we looked it up for my car but im actually trying to get a hold of a friend who has his stock alternator out so that i can put that on the machine and test the actual amperage it puts out.
Here is also a link i found with direct replacements for our application it says between 80-100 amps. http://replacement.autopartswarehouse.c … mp;dp=true
Also if you are calling on Saturday they close early sat i believe at noon.

Well just got back not to long ago from Stage 3 Motoring and my friend let me borrow his stock alternator out of his 03 SE-R Spec V for testing and here are the Results. The stock alternator peaked at about 108amps at nearly 6000rpm and put out a little over 12 volts. Under load it actually dropped down to about 100amps at over 6000rpm and maintained about 12 volts. Just buy going up to the 130amp you will be gaining 30amps and 2+ volts out of the alternator. And if you go with the 200amp you will have plenty of power for that high wattage system or any other electronics you may be running. (Also he said he has not recieved any call yet and he needs 5 people before he can start the process hopefully after seeing this i can set any doubts about the stock amperage aside.)

Sorry man, I thought posting here ensured there was at least 5, I'm still in, do I have to call to get one?

Offline
Jon

yea in order to start the production he needs 5 members to call the shop with their info and pay for the alternator by Credit Card unless you are local and can drop off cash. Sorry if their was any confusion but in order to start he needs 5 people to call the shop and make the arrangements with him.

Talked to Don today and he said he still hasn't received any calls i know i had alot of people interested that said they would buy in the GI thread which is why he set up this group buy with us. If he doesn't receive any calls soon this may turn into a missed opportunity at this price as he will have to focus on other projects.

Ok, I just got off the phone with Don.
I am the first to call in and commit for this GB.
Come on folks! Lets get in on this!

Come on guys. This is a great deal i paid more than double for my High Ampridge alternator. I know that their where alot of people interested in this product before i was able to officially start this GB.
Offline

I would love to have one of the 200amp ones. My stock one can't handle my bottle heater but I just don't have 270.00 bucks to spend on a alternator. Let me know if you can get it dropped down a little bit and maybe I can get in on this..
Offline
Jon

$270 is very low already. But Even the 130amp is a nice upgrade from the stock 100amp. That should be sufficient power for the bottle heater.

where cn we get the belt?size for the alternator?

you have to measure that out it can be a little diff some times we just test fit a few when we where installing mine at the shop. Its not to hard to figure out just have to test fit.

i'll try and see if i can take my belt out and give you the measurements off that but the way we did it with mine was just trying diff belts until we got the tightest fit.
Also anyone interested hop on this soon as idk how much longer he is going to keep this open. This is definitely a great deal.
