Shane...Aka Redman!

RAFFLE IS NOW CLOSED.
2008 MSV Raffle
Prize: Treadstone Turbo kit ( with SAFC2 swap) approx value: $3100
http://treadstoneperformance.com/produc … +Turbo+kit
Cost of Entry: $20.90 (20$ per ticket/ .90 cent paypal fee)
Ticket purchase limit: none, limited to registered Myspecv.com users. All other entries will be considered invalid and reimbursement will be issued.
Number of tickets to sell: 170
Raffle Overlords: BumbleVeeNH
Sinsation
Spec-V Wannabe
How to purchase a ticket: Paypal 20.90 to Shane.morrison@comcast.net ( make sure to add a note to payment with your forum name, real name and address for record keeping)
Rules: Contest starts Saturday Jan 26 2008 and runs until we have sold the allotted tickets. We will be keeping a running tab on who's buying tickets, viewable to the public here (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= … drT8w7DPVw) at any time so you folks know we're running a legit show. As we have 2 members and a moderator working on it, it should stay updated frequently. We also will all have access to the paypal account so we can update and process payments. I will post paypal balances every other day. When all slots are filled, all of the local MSV members will meet together to draw a winner. This will be Streamed live ( working on getting that setup, so this might end up being video taped and hosted minutes afterwards) as we choose the winning ticket. At which time an order will be put into treadstone with the winner's shipping information. Winner is by this contest required to take a picture of his/her face when they open the kit up for the first time. ( for posterity) Buyer of ticket pays paypal fee's ($.90 per ticket). Myspecv.com, Sinsation, SpecV Wannbe, BumbleVeeNH, and Treadstone performance are in no way responsible for any random acts of stupidity caused by installing a turbo kit. Basically don't sue us bitch!

just to let u guys know a problem that MIGHT arise... with u, sin and specvwannabe being the "RAFFLE OVERLORDS", with u guys purchasing tickets, IF by chance one of u wins, the entire contest looks completely rigged. i know the 3 of u are probably very trusted BUT it is a bad scenario i can forsee in the future.
GOODLUCK ON THE RAFFLE EVERYONE!!! this is a bad ass turbo kit!

^ Well thats not a problem with me. I wanted to oversee it, cause Im not gonna buy any. Lets say I spent $40 in 30mins at some stupid machines trying win a teddy bear. I dont wanna be tempted. I dont know about the other two, but im not gonna buy one.

something along the lines of everybody has x amount of tickets with their names on them from how many they purchased. all tickets are shown to the webcast and thrown in a bag and some random guy walks up and picks one out.

yea i thought it be rigged... like is it going to be done in a hat? lil papers of peoples names thrown in the hat...live feed from a web came of someone fucking scrambling the papers and picks out a name LOL........i did the math 20 times 170 = 3400 well over the amount it cost for the turbo......shit if its real ill pul 2000 dallors worth of tickets....
-r0nni
I don't know how Shane is going to do the drawing... but it won't be rigged.
Also, it's $3400 adding in shipping costs and such.
Plus... if you drop $2000 worth of tickets, it's still only a 1 in 1.7 chance to win, which means you can still lose, and you just paid $2000 to give someone a turbo kit.
The only way you can guarantee to win, is buy all of the tickets... but you might as well buy your own damned turbo kit. But you can't buy all of the tickets... some are already sold.
EDIT
Also... just do the math, 1 in 1.7 chances mean you only have about a 59% chance of winning. Crappy odds for dropping that much money. Just buy a couple tickets and call it a day.

They need to do the drawing at a mega meet. That way there is like 30 members to witness. Then video that.

Well guys, just got back in. Wanted to respond to a few things.
1. I have integrity. I will not "rig" the winner.
2. I gave a ticket to myself, wanna-be, and Sin for the work we are doing.
3. Overages. Yes the total amount for payable tickets is 3400. Orignially paypal fee's were worked into that number, but I felt that if we had more money, nobody is left footing the bill if there is an issue later. Like if we say had to ship to Guam. If there is any money left over there will be a Second drawing for a less expensive part which I have not decided yet. I guess that'll be a surprise ( people love surprises) Anything left over from that will be given to Blackout V's mom's Cystic Fibrosis foundation Charity. That way even though you might lose 20$ you know that a certain part of it will be given to people who need it.
4. Drawing. See my initial post. I'd love to do it at a mega meet, but remember I'm in NH. I will have ALL current New England MSV members over to get this done. And a 3rd party ( non nissan owner) will be the person drawing the name. There will be no names written on tickets, just you're ticket number. That is why i'm using a spreadsheet. Numbers will be drawn and that will correspond to the winner.
5. Chill out. This is going to be a fun, cool raffle. I know in today's world that people second guess everyone, but we should be able to pull together to do this. I always appreciate the comments, but if you can help it please don't hate. Be an optimist, not a pessimist.

Gurov has told me that in the event he is chosen, he will let another name be drawn. He just wants you guys to know he supports this raffle.
As for heidi......IDK, i was tired last night so I don't know what they'll do if she's drawn.
Offline

gurov put money in for him and me to show SUPPORT, not to try to win anything. he will turn it down, and so will as i. we were just trying to SUPPORT the community, something apparently more than several people have an issue with. which if you do, please keep it to yourself. do you see anybody else trying to do this for the spec v community? ah, i didn't think so. so stop your bitching.

Moneys sent!!!
another thing we should try to keep someone from doing is winning this turbo kit then turning around and try to resell it!!
I want to win so bad, but i can only afford one ticket
Online

Allen

well what if the winner is already turbo'd or doesn't plan on going that route or changed their minds on the car build halfway thru? It wouldn't be fair if they couldn't sell it not to mention we cant stop them at all. For some it could just be a raffle for $3000
Online

Sin

yeah, the raffle is for a set prize...a Treadstone Turbo Kit. what the winner decides to do with it is up to them. I'm just excited over the prospect that we together as a community can do something like this. I mean for one of our members to go boost for essentially $20.60 is awesome.
Offline

Thomas

the HP per dollar cost on for the winner would be a record. It's about $0.13 per HP

For the spread sheet, why not just have the name and number of tickets 1,2,3.... instead of relisting there name?

Because each slot represents a ticket.
oh and it's 20.90, just an FYI. I misfigured the initial paypal fee.

Well, now the first posts says it's $20.90 a ticket. What's up with that?
And it still reads $20.60 a ticket via paypal
Do I really need to paypal another $.60
Let me know.
