20 bucks for this one.

depending on how empty it is, you might need more.

on the passenger side fender there's a green sticker that tells you how much the system holds.

Re: How to: recharge ac in your sentra

I agree that this is a good write up but, recharging your a/c system this way is not a permanent fix for the problem. The best thing to do is to take it to a shop with an evac/ recharge machine and have them add dye so that when it does leak out again, they can find the leak. If your refrigerant is low then you have a leak somewhere and you need to fix it. Yes it does cost more but, it's the right way to do it.

the reason is, the car should not ever lose freeon. so if you put it in this way, you have no idea how much to put in.  the reason why you get evac/recharged is bc they take all the old refrigerant out and put in the correct amount.  doing it this way, you may put too much in and ruin other parts of the ac system. again, there should be no leaks in the system at all.

Re: How to: recharge ac in your sentra

bought a similar recharge kit recently, and it has made a large difference. Having a black spec can be pretty shitty in the Houston heat. When I would get to my car after work it would be very hot and take almost the whole ride home to cool down with the ac on the 4 setting. I would always drive with my ac on high and it seemed like it just wasn't making very cold air. The kit was pretty simple. It contained R 134a refrigerant, oil, stop-leak, and fluorescent green dye. Looks just like the one pictured. simple universal fitting so i don't see how you could really fuck it up. after rolling the can up and down it eventually felt empty and I threw it away.
Well I couldn't be happier with the results, my ac is MUCH much cooler, so much so that I can drive around with my ac on 2 or even 1 setting and be comfortable in the car, it also cools down much quicker after sitting in the sun all day. I was really worried I might have some type of ac problem but after using one of these kits im pretty confident that it just had never been recharged. During install there were no ill effects, and afterward the improvements seem well worth the cost.

self recharge ftw

All the bottles are universal, unless you have a really really old car that still uses the old kind of refridgerant (which you don't)
