1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

How many people have run their car 1/4 miles when stock?  My best time is a 15.1, looking for a comparison.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

Lowest I have had mine was 15.2. That was with ghetto grounding wires (lowe's), and factory tires.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

The reason why the spec-v runs 15's stock is because of the damn wheel hop. I don't know about newer models but my 03 absolutely sucked off the line untill I got Motor Mount Inserts. The 6 speed transmission does does not help as well since you have to shift earlier than if you had a 5 speed but fuck that 6 speed kicks ass

Man that´s a very good time. I assume you are at sea level.

My best time was a 16.729 at 5200ft Altitude above sea level (Guadalajara, Mexico) on November 2004
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f229/camus16/Time%20Slips/ET16.jpg

But If I were at the sea level, according to this graphic (Stock & Mildly modified NA engines) at this link
http://www.wallaceracing.com/altitudeco … .htm#stock

My time Would have been:  at 5200ft;  16.729 * .9354 = 15.64 my time at sea level

The difference between your time and mine are 0.50sec. That could be the rollout distance of the track or the good conditions of your tracks.

Regards.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

I just ran last week with my DC header as my only mod, and on new falken all seasons, the best I could get was a 15.28 with a 2.30 60 ft, at 90.00 mph.  But the last pass I made, I pulled a 2.20 60 ft. and that probably would have knocked about 2 tenths off, but I missed 3rd.....

Wheel hop is also my main problem.  MMI's WILL be my next mod.

My best time was 15.9 with an intake. Wheel hop is in issue with most of us. Not use to launching the car but going tomorrow night and I think i can get below 15.5 I have been practicing my launch. And Im in vegas elevation is between 2400 2600 above sea level

I had real bad wheel hop in my 07'. . .shoulda took some pressure out of the tires but didn't wanna drive an hour and half on the highway with low tires.

the very first time i ran a 18 something lol i know  but then i started training my launch at the lights until i got it almost perfectly.  Then i ran a 15.0 stock.  My goal this summer is to run a 14.8 or slower cause i know it's possible.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

Ran my 08 Spec in April for the first time, with 2 10" subs in the trunk. Otherwise stock, spare tire NOT removed. 15.149 @ 91.72 was my best 1/4 and MPH, corrected for altitude (1285 at PRP) is a 14.941 @ 93.012 . Best 60' was 2.29 vs best 1/4's 60 was 2.38. This is without LSD and on the stock ContiConcactSport All-Seasons. Could have been a 14.9 at PRP if I hadn't missed 3rd on my best 60' run.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

Uhm.. I forget what was run on B15 sentra website, but 14.7 stock might rival the record.. lets see a slip if you have one? not that I question it as that IS possible but I'd just like to see it for reference sake.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

I ran a 14.9 stock, with a shit ass 2.4 short time, I've found this car launches much better with higher tire pressure, wheel hop goes away and it spins minimally or dead hooks on the stock tires. We'll see how I do next time.

Stitch, do you mind finding your timeslip and uploading it as well? I'd like to see where I lost that time to you... I thought I had good shifts so maybe theres a point at which you shift that I should learn

I shift at 7100 right before the limiter and I don't let up the clutch at all when shifting, I also shift as fast as I can.

I still can't launch this thing at the track though, but I've gotten the street down pretty well I think. I'm hoping for a 2.2x and a 14.6 with my cai now.

I ran a 15.2 stcok aand a best of 15.002 with intake only.  now with the pulley and catback added i keep getting 15.2's again.  Stitch i find it funny how you ran a 14.9 with a 9.7 1/8th time and i ran a 15.0 with a 9.68 1/8th.  I was THIS close, i forgot to roll my windows up!

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

Well I can't launch for shit on the track but a friend of mine taught me a new way that I want to try.

I shift relatively quick and I make some decent time from that. What are the temps like at the track you're running at?

Mine were about 75 ish maybe a tad lower when I was stock, most recently I managed a 15.1 but it was with an intake and 102 degree's outside + humidity.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times (Stock)

My best was a 15.7 or 15.6 something like that. On old worn out contis on a hot day with high humidity. It sounds like i'm making excuses but that day i beat some old v8 fords and a few vtec integras and preludes so the weather was affecting everyone. Later that night after i stopped racing and the temps had come down a bit my friend ran his prelude again and got a 15.5 but i had already given back my borrowed helmet so i couldnt race him again heheh.
