how do some cars run like 11s at 110mph for example while some cars run the same time at like 160mph. its just an example, i dont understand how that works.

Slicks make you run slower trap speeds, so you'll see people with slicks running faster times with slower trap speeds than say someone just on drag radials.

so whats better to have higher MPH or lower MPH?

Its in the gearbox too, depending on the gear ratios, your traps could be high or low.
Also, if a car has a low trap and low time, that means that either it took off quick and once it got up in the gears, the power isnt that great, like in N/A V8s
If a car has a time that is low and trap is high, that normally means the car had nitrous and squeezed at the 1/8th mark like Ive seen some do. Or, it just got a shitty launch and too much wheelspin. Or the car could have let out on it before crossing the finish line.
Im sure I left some things out but thats all that could come to mind right now.

depends, Big, tub'd out cars with huge slicks will go 9.90 at 131mph. while my old honda would go 11.80 at 145mph.
Cars that make alot of power, will generlly, trap alot higher than a car with less power that hooks well.
Take, titan, and boost logic supras for that matter.
at the texas 2k8 meet, the boost logic supra, and Titan motorsports supra where in the unlimted class final.
Boost logic beat titan, Making less power, so they had a better E.T. while titan had a MUCH higher trap speed, but a slower ET, so they lost.
I would MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have a car go 14.0 at 150, then a car that goes 11.00 at 120mph.

Yes take my IRL for example, i trapped 110-111 on slicks, from a roll w/ street tires i run with cars that trap 113-114.......I would much rather take a car that hooks up and runs a second faster with a lower trap then a car that traps high and runs a slower time, i hate roll racing even though i do it, but that is not true drag racing.
