Yah Will, for the most part it does.

REMEMBER that the picture that G-money provides is a picture of the ECU when looking into the pins.
When installing this, do not flip the harness around or you may get confused.

Could I still install a AFC NEO (only used as a monitoring tool) even if I have the Greddy E-manage Ultimate installed?

what does it mean to connect the brown wire to the ecu side
Offline

Jeremy

brown wire goes closest to the ecu and u make sure u put the black on the other side of the brown away from the ecu, do u get what im saying
Offline

Jeremy

both black and brown need to be soldered into the same wire just brown need to be closer to the ecu like in the picture and brown needs to be on the other side away from it
Offline

ooo ok i get it now .... when the guy that did my neo he put the brown and black together at the same point .. maybe thats y it fucked up
Offline

Jeremy

yeah that will do it they need to be separate from eachother and make sure everything is soldered mine wouldnt even cut on with quickconnectors so i had to go back and solder it all but it works like a champ now
Offline

bc mine threw my car in limp mode after a couple of days so i disconnected it
Offline

Jeremy

oh well go back and resolder everything and make sure u have a damn good connections

also the rpm wire that you put in to open slot, when you remove that long yellow/white plastic pin stick the wire all the way through until you see it on the other side of the hole at the point where the ecu pin will touch it and then re-insert that plastic pin inside the same hole to firmly hold the wire in place. Instructions said to use tape to hold it but it kept coming off, reusing the plastic pin works perfectly.

I just got my SAFC2 in today and I need some help, this write up pretty much explains it all perfectly for me, the only problem is that I have three extra wires that aren't mentioned here
I have a Pink, an Orange, and a Blue wire, where do these go?

no where, they are not used for our cars.

Is there an actual factory plug for the white and yellow wire? Or is it you just conect the white and yellow wire in the wire coming from pin 51. So it would be cut the wire in pin 51, conect the yellow wire to the ecu side and the white to the harness side of the wire you cut??

you just cut the wire and solder yellow on ecu side and white on the other side, i think the safc is supposed to come with extra plugs that you can put on the cut wire but my safc didn't come with jack shit

Sorry Tweek...If I could have found a New SAFC 2 I would have. I wasn't aware anything was missing.

idk anything about what an safc is,so if u guys could help it be great, i just put a full header downpipe and catback and cai and i wanna be able to tune my car, right? is it possible? and is the safc meant for that or what is the safc for and do i need a wideband o2 sensor to
Offline

Josh

Yes you need a wideband for sure and yes a SAFC is for tuning. If you have no idea your better off reading up alot in the electronics section. To tune yourself you will need a SAFC, wideband, and datalogger of some sort.

What is the basic configuration setup for the safc once installed
settings wise
cylinders hi low throttle point
and any other default setting i woudl need to know about
am i making any sense in asking this question?

Most of the settings are car/setup specific. Here is what I can give you:
4 cylander with the throttle arrow going up and to the right.
Hotwire: 18-18 - 1-1
The throttle points (ne points) and the air signal modification (+-X%) you will have to tune. Do this on a dyno or with a wideband. Don't do this with a butt dyno if you like your piston rings and rods.
There is an asston of information already in threads on the board, so do some searching and read read read read read read read.
Wiring it takes an hour or two, setup will take you 10 minutes, so don't worry about it. If your boosted, look up the boost SAFC hack post gurov made. That's what I run and I highly recommend it. Highly. You can keep one tune map and simply change the throttle % (which is actually boost psi) to change partial boost. So, on a drag track I might have 39% lo throttle and 42% hi throttle, but on the street, I turn it down to 39% lo / %47 high which doesn't let the car run lean at partial boost when you back off the throttle (lost traction in 3rd again damn it! lol)

I am gonna try and use pin 103 for my RPM window switch anyone know the voltage it puts out?

Offline

An S-AFC II and NEO will both pick up the RPM signal from pin 103. I've installed several and picked up the signal just fine.

just to let you know, you can get a tach signal from the red wire at the ignition coil, its negative polarity

Look at the wiring diagram in the first post, that tells you the color/pin #.

o so the wiring from the afc are the same color as the wires from the ecu also? thats what i dont get?

just curious to install this do i hook everything up through the ecu harness connected to the fire wall or do i work from behind the glove box?
