Drag Racing Safety Equipment Thread

What types/brands of equipment does everybody use at the track?

I use a GForce GF105 fire jacket, because I have to have a SFI 3.2A/1 rated jacket due to the turbo.

For my helmet (NJ state law is that EVERYONE running at a track must wear a helmet, plus I am under 13.99 ET), I have a GForce open face helmet, SN2000.  Got it on sale which was nice.  Don't have any pics of it unfortunately.

And that's all for now.  Tonight I am ordering one of these: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s … 4_-1_10501 , a neck collar, to support my head in case of something bad happening.  Something about the idea of my airbag ripping my head off doesn't sound too appeasing, so might as well protect myself more.

Jegs and saferacer.com is where I get all of my stuff from

Re: Drag Racing Safety Equipment Thread

Just about to add
kirk four point roll bar which i believe meets N.H.R.A. rules for cars above 11.49 et
I received an estimate for 600 dollars installed

And for super specs that turn in the 11's
There is a 6point  bolt in cage  available
for 1800 installed
from
Kirk Racing Products
there is a picture of the 6 point cage  on the lower right side of this page
www.kirkracing.com/pictures.htm

edit: 7/3/08
Had the bolt in 4 point bar installed at Kirk racing products
Mark Stewart started the install at 7am and by the time we finished breakfast it was done.
[Less than two hours]
The bar costs$405.00,
The install was $130.00
We also purchased the camera mount for $105.00
Prices as of 6/30/08

Driving with the bar
Just drove it about four hundred miles

Pluses:
Much more rigid
Car feels tight and solid
Seemed to ease shifting but not wheel hop
Felt capable
Fits nicely
Looks good
Is not obvious but is plainly visible

Downsides:
Total loss of backseat, hello four door two seater
Some interference with rear view mirror
Can’t fully recline passenger seat
Weighs 70lb

Overall it gives a good feeling of confidence in the handling of the car
My wife said it gave her a sense of security
here are the pics of the 4-point bar
