Ok well, I know ttwwp (this thread is worthless without pictures) i will be getting them tommrow as I kinda do a little "tune up" on my GXE. Anyways, since I have had the car I have had a recurring ses light that wont go away for o2 sensor, but I still get good gas mileage
. A few weeks after I got the car, i removed the rattling exhaust manifold heat sheild and the o2 sensor harness brackets so now two of the o2 sensor harness plugs have been melted by the egr tube. because of this I believe that they intermitently stop sending signals to the computer because I will get this random stumble. Where is there a place I can get replacement harness plugs both o2 sensor side and engine harness side?

dealership, junkyards, there are also online parts stores and some junkyards have listings online also, you just have to find em.

Do you happen to have a part number handy? probably not but thought I would ask, might go to the dealership in town and see if they even stock both plugs or if a new harness would be in order

if the o2 sensor wires are melted you will have to replace the sensors. if its the actual engine harness that is melted the dealership is gonna charge you for the whole thing. i would personally cut the bad part out and splice the wires back together using solder and heat shrink.

is it the ecu side or the sensor side?

I've been driving my car for about 5 months now with a bolt in the bung on the header lol...
Since yours isn't a QR I don't know how much it is, but for the QR one from the dealer is $145. The first time I checked they said it was $300, so I don't know why the price difference in only a few months.. Autozone had one on their site for $96. It's made by Bosch which is the same as the OEM, just less expensive because it isn't from the dealer.

Its not the accual wires that are melted its the connectors... would I be able to cut out the connector and add my own or just not use a connector and connect the wires directly?

Well since one end goes inside the other end then both connectors are melted making it impossible to disconnect them:angry:

as long as you make sure you connect the correct wires i dont see why that wouldnt work. just make good solid connections.

yup, as long as there is a connection, doesnt matter how, it will work, just dont do it ghetto, do it neat and with solder.

dont tell him that lol, i just dont want to see the wires twisted together and covered in electrical tape. PLEASE do it right the first time, solder and heat shrink.
