turbo exhaust help!!!??!

so here's the deal.. there's a local exhaust shop in my town (sandy whale vagnia california) that did amazing work on my friends cutout on his twin turbo supra.. i'm going to go with turboback exhaust for my turbonetics t3/t4 kit @ 9 lbs.. i'm thinking a 22-24" resonator, high flow cat and muffler.. will you guys please let me know what would be best for the setup for what i'm looking for.. quietest with best performance i.e. highest exhaust velocity and lowest turbulance.. i'm having the toughest time deciding between 2.5, 2.75, and 3" piping.. so let a brown man know so i can upset another sti owner or two.. thanks again in advance

hella dominican @ 9 lbs when the exhaust is closed.. 10 lbs when i feel like opening the stinkey, fireball shooting dump

Re: turbo exhaust help!!!??!

yeah 3" and no cats for me! I don't think that car is going to be quiet even with 2 or 3 resonators. hey at least you'll have a turbo.

Re: turbo exhaust help!!!??!

if you were truely badass you would suck it up and run a 3.5 and 4" exhaust, but it would prob be overkill in your case smiley-wink

Re: turbo exhaust help!!!??!

if you wanna keep it quiet during normal driving, get 2.5 wit 3' dp,  a res or hi flow cat and get a cutout put in for the races or watnot.

If you can care less for noise, 3in for sure.

Re: turbo exhaust help!!!??!

so instead of going with the three.. i ended up doing what my boy with the tt supra did.. 2.5" cutout right before the cat which goes back to the stock exhaust.. it is soooooo god damned loud when its open.. it ends up running an extra lb of boost and it is really fucking fast.. it sounds a lot better than how civicy i thought it was going to sound.. and at the very least.. 30 hp according to the ass dyno smiley-smile.. since there's so many cops in sd i wanted the benifit of stock looking and sounding exhaust for my daily cruising and basically a downpipe dump when im raping..

if anyone in so cal wants to get one welded up my homeboy danny at JBA racing in san diego did a stellar job.. threw down a really pretty bead with absolutly no leaks and tucked up tight to the undercarrige.. someone on the forums in the little chatbox on the homepage reccomended QTP to me for the cutout and butterfly and they ended up being georgous parts and the motor on the cutout is suuuper burly.. thanks for your help everyone
