Re: I'm buying a short ram intake... now which one?

they all do the same thing, they are typically all the same size.  but an ebay short ram and an AEM dryflow filter.  cheapest and best set-up.

Re: I'm buying a short ram intake... now which one?

Thanks dude.

Unfortunately, due to my prior experiences with XSPower and their horrendous excuse for a catback exhaust, I guess I prefer to spend the little extra on true name brand parts for my car.  Weapon R has been around for a bit, though I don't know much about them.  I do however know that AEM is a tried and tested brand.  Seen many good parts from them installed on several of my friend's cars.  So naturally, after having purchased TWO catback exhaust systems in the past three months, I'm skeptical of anything "eBay".  Even though the filter is name brand.

Re: I'm buying a short ram intake... now which one?

Do this... buy a used name brand CAI and a JWT pop charger.  Take the upper section of the CAI (the bit that goes from the MAF to the TB).  Hook the upper part up as normal and then install the JWT pop charger to the end of the MAF.  The best SRI available.  The venturi ring is a lot better deigned that the plastic shit you see inside of the other filters (plus it matches right up.

I've had an ebay SRI with an AEM filter for over 2 years now.  Still works great.

Re: I'm buying a short ram intake... now which one?

how much do you wanna spend? evildriver is right, they all do the same shit. if you have some money to blow, buy a nice used brand name. if you're trying to save just a bit of money, buy an ebay pipe with a generic filter. if you want a quick solution, just buy a MAF adapter and a cone filter. i ran that setup on my car for 6 months before i scored some shiny pipe for free.

Re: I'm buying a short ram intake... now which one?

yeah i bought an AEM back when i didn't know shit.  the fitment actually isn't that great on our car.  it rattles around and my powdercoating is chipped in a spot because of that.  if you want a name brand get k&n.  but i still recommend with ANY cai or sri that you get an AEM dryflow filter.
